Facilities include: an immaculate 9 bed co-ed dormitory, a women’s dormitory (4 pax), private rooms with shared bath and private rooms with en-suite bath. Providing a perfect combination for all your needs at a great value!

Our Services

Guests enjoy the use of a clean, new community kitchen, one of the best around, a warm fireplace and hot water 24 hours per day. There are several places to sit, relax and enjoy our beautiful patio and lovely garden and observe humming birds!

Experiences & Tours

We have a variety of tours including an expedition to a local coffee plantation, horseback-riding, rock-climbing trips, hiking, visits to the local amber mines, culturally responsible visits to local Indigenous villages and more.

One of my favourite hostel experiences not just in Mexico but anywhere. A lot of this is down to the staff, who are very hardworking but also friendly and always smiling, and it seems like they're happy to be working there which makes a huge difference! The hostel is ideal for travelers who want to socialize in a relaxed manner. It's not too big and it's not a party hostel, so you have a nice social vibe but relaxed and without the noise, and it's easy to meet people to go on tours together or go out for some drinks. It's also a nice property for a lazy day in as it has some nice trees and plants, regularly visited by hummingbirds, and cozy covered spaces in which to relax. The hostel is also very clean, as the staff clean the rooms and bathrooms every single day. There's a good breakfast every morning of eggs (cooked to your liking), bread, delicious homemade jam, fruit and coffee. I had a private room so I can't comment on the dorms, but all in all, this hostel was pretty much perfect - Raul con "H" 🙂

La Posada del Abuelito ha sido una excelente elección para hospedarnos. Tiene diferentes tipos de habitaciones, desde camarotes compartidos hasta habitaciones privadas con o sin baño. Nosotros nos quedamos en una habitación con baño privada. La atención de todo el personal que allí labora te hace sentir en un ambiente familiar. Siempre pendientes de tus requerimientos. Los Tours se pueden contratar directamente en La Posada a un buen precio y los operados por empresas turísticas reconocidas en la región. El precio de la habitación es muy bueno y la ubicación es un poco retirada del centro, pero igual se puede ir caminando (15 minutos aproximadamente). Curiosamente es uno de los lugares que preferimos los extrajeros para hospedarnos. La cocina está disponible para todos los huéspedes y todos los espacios Siempre están limpios.
