How do I get to
San Cristóbal?

 By bus

San Cristóbal de las Casas is connected to most cities in southern Mexico (Cancún, Tulum, Mérida, Campeche, Villahermosa, Chetumal, Palenque, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Oaxaca, Huatulco, Puerto Escondido) and central Mexico (México DF, Puebla, Guadalajara).

You can check schedules and buy tickets on boletotal.mx.

To travel within the State of Chiapas and between its different towns and cities, there are also local companies (AEXA) and colectivos (vehicles for 10/15 people) that leave frequently.

Many travel agencies also organize transportation to and from Guatemala (Huehuetenango, Panajachel and Lago de Atitlán towns, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala City and La Antigua), most of the time with a door to door service.

 By plane

The nearest airport is located in Tuxtla Gutiérrez (Aeropuerto Internacional Ángel Albino Corzo), 1 1/4 hour (85 km) from San Cristóbal de las Casas.

From Tuxtla’s airport, take a shuttle service (available 4 times a day) to the Tuxtla Gutiérrez’s bus station. Then an Omnibus Cristóbal Colón (OCC) bus to San Cristóbal de las Casas.
